ENEC Organizes a Youth Circle to Discuss Innovation and the Role of Cultural Diversity Management in Promoting Nuclear Safety

As part of the Innovation Week organized by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), a youth circle was organized yesterday in ENEC’s Headquarters at Abu Dhabi. The youth circle was attended by H.E. Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, H.E. Hamad Al Kaabi, UAE’s Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA, H.E. Eng. Mohamad Ibrahim Al Hammadi, ENEC’s Chief Executive Officer and Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Al Rumaithi, ENEC’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Bringing together some 30 employees from ENEC and Nawah Energy Company, the circle addressed two main topics: Innovation in the peaceful nuclear energy industry and the role of cultural diversity management in promoting nuclear safety culture.

Young employees attending the event stressed the need to boost self-confidence and develop competencies by connecting with research centers and getting updated on the latest developments in the nuclear energy industry, while also identifying areas of improvement to establish innovation as a daily practice.

Participants highlighted the significance of the cultural diversity in the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program, bringing together nuclear expertise from around the world and making such diversity an ideal opportunity for knowledge transfer and know-how sharing to ultimately develop the UAE’s unique experience in the nuclear sector.

Participants also commended the facilities provided by the wise UAE leadership to enhance their scientific and technological skills and capabilities, not to mention the state-of-the-art means of communication and easy access to information, which will surely encourage innovation and develop work procedures for greater achievements.
