ENEC Hosts Forum to Showcase Its Award Winning Corporate Excellence Initiatives

As part of the Knowledge Forums that were launched in 2014, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) in coordination with the Office of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Program at the Secretariat of the Executive Council (GSEC), showcased its government excellence experience, initiatives and projects at the forum which was held at Dusit Thani hotel in Abu Dhabi. The forum was attended by H.E Mohamed Al Hammadi - ENEC’s CEO, Dr. Yasir Ahmed Al Naqbi, Director of the Office of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Programme, and more than 250 representatives of government agencies, as part of a series of forums organised by the office of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence for entities that participated in the fourth edition of the award. The event aimed to inform governmental institutions of current activity within the areas of management, quality and excellence. It also focused on stream-lining applications, concepts of knowledge transfer and learning from the best professional practices.

ENEC has recently won three awards in the fourth Abu Dhabi Government Awards for Excellence in Government Performance 2015. The first and most prestigious was the Most Distinguished Government Entity Award, which ENEC won out of 306 entries from 51 government entities in the Abu Dhabi Emirate. ENEC’s employee Asma Al Shanqeeti also won the New Employee award, out of a shortlist of 100.

H.E Mohammed Al Hammadi, CEO of ENEC commented: "ENEC began its journey towards government excellence in 2009 through the development of a system based on quality of management systems that ensure the highest levels of efficiency and standards of safety."

He added: "We view the awards as a tool for improvement, continuous development and positive competition. We also see these forums as a means of exchanging knowledge and promoting institutional learning between government entities in Abu Dhabi. As a result we work towards the common goal of achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership and realizing the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision".

As part of ENEC’s commitment to knowledge transfer, Al Hammadi confirmed the organization’s dedication to cooperation with all government agencies at the state level with a view to benchmarking and defining best practices. Dr. Yasir Ahmed Al Naqbi, director of the office of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Programme at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council , said that the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance aims to support Abu Dhabi government entities in improving their performance in a way that ensures maintaining achievements and the continuous improvement of the government performance. It also aims at reinforcing the excellence concept in the daily working culture for individuals and companies.

These meetings aim at enlightening government agencies in regard to the experiences and achievements of other entities, and the teams, projects, initiatives and staff who won the awards of Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance. It will further support spreading the application and concepts of knowledge transfer and learning from the best administrative and professional practices in the field of development, quality and organizational excellence. He also stressed on the importance of adopting best practices at the entities in order to ensure spreading the excellence culture.
