Ahmed Almheiri is the Group General Counsel & Compliance Officer of Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC). With around 30 years of experience in this field, Almheiri is the chief legal adviser to ENEC, leading and directing ENEC’s legal function to ensure compliance with all legal obligations, requirements and Enterprise governance frameworks. 

Almheiri provides legal advice on the strategic delivery of the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program and counsels ENEC’s leadership team to make informed decisions relating to various business matters. He also oversees compliance with all ENEC, United Arab Emirates, and international legal requirements, based on prevailing legal principles. 

Prior to joining ENEC, Almheiri held different positions in the UAE, where most recently he was Chief Legal Counsel and Board Secretary at Abu Dhabi Media Company.  At the early stage of his career, Almheiri acted as Legal Counsel at the Department of the Under Secretary Office, UAE Ministry of Interior. In this position he conducted reviews of UAE laws, decrees, regulations and contracts requested by the divisions of the Ministry. He was also responsible for conducting professional legal research.

Ahmed Almheiri holds a Masters Degree of Laws on US legal studies from Case Western Reserve University - Ohio, USA and a Bachelor of Law from Abu Dhabi Police Academy.
