Volunteers from the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) and its subsidiaries, the Nawah Energy Company (Nawah) and Barakah One Company, helped prepare Iftar meals for community members in the town of Madinat Zayed, located in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi Emirate.

On the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and as a part of its commitment to families and communities across the United Arab Emirates, ENEC has partnered with Emirates Red Crescent to sponsor an Iftar tent in Madinat Zayed between 6 May and 5 June 2019, serving Iftar for roughly 200 people every day.

In addition, ENEC continues to provide Iftar for 500 laborers every weekend at the Mosque located in Barakah, the site of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant.

Volunteers from ENEC, Nawah and Barakah One Company visited the Iftar tent between May 21 and May 27 to manage the logistics in the tent and to help with the preparation of the meals prior to prayer time. The employee’s participation was facilitated by volunteers.ae, the UAE Volunteer Platform that forms a part of the Emirates Foundation.

ENEC and its subsidiaries have partnered with volunteers.ae to enable their employees to access a wide range of charitable events and activities and be able to log their volunteering hours and be recognized for their efforts.

To ensure volunteering in the UAE achieves maximum social impact across all seven Emirates, and volunteers can operate easily in an enabling environment, the UAE Volunteer Platform - the first and largest smart, nationwide platform - operates a comprehensive, proactive program of development and regulation.
