David Blackmore

Dr. David Blackmore is the director of health, safety, environment and sustainability for the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC).  He is responsible for leading the corporation’s company-wide health, safety, environment (HSE) and sustainability program implementation, analysis, reporting and compliance.

Additional:
Prior to joining ENEC in December 2010, David held positions in both private industry and the United Arab Emirates government sectors. Most recently he was the director of environmental management at the Environment Agency–Abu Dhabi (EAD). Blackmore supervised the overall management and strategic direction of the Environmental Management Sector including environmental monitoring, permitting and enforcement of all major developments in Abu Dhabi.

Previously, David managed the Air and Climate Change program for the EAD’s Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QEHS) program.  This position oversaw the terms of services to ensure that policy and regulatory mandates met the EAD’s qualifications.  Additionally, he implemented relevant policies, procedures and systems to meet best practices and comply with all legal, ethical and regulatory requirements.

David holds a doctorate in Environmental Chemistry, a Bachelor of Environmental Science degree (Hons I) and a diploma in Metallurgy. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
