Message from the CEO
Chief Executive Officer
Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation
The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation continues to make progress on our mandate to deliver a civil nuclear energy program that meets the highest standards for safety, operations and non-proliferation while powering the social and economic growth of the United Arab Emirates.
The civil nuclear energy program will be a significant enabler of the UAE’s economic development, by providing the critical energy to power the growth of industries and business. The program will also support the development of human capital in the UAE by providing high-value jobs for decades to come.
Our focus over the next several years will be on delivering a nuclear energy program that sets a benchmark for safety, efficiency and operational excellence. And at the heart of this ambition are our people – the women and men who will build this program. We have already built a staff of talented individuals and are looking to hire more people throughout our organization to help us achieve our goals.
ENEC is also partnering with academic institutions to promote the study of sciences and engineering among our youth. We have also developed a scholarship program to give our graduates the opportunity to receive the education and skills necessary to excel in the nuclear energy industry. These efforts will help to ensure the nuclear energy industry in the UAE benefits from local expertise and leadership well into the future.
Finally, the UAE government has worked closely with the International Atomic Energy Agency, as well as the governments of responsible nations to adopt and implement best practices and guidelines for the development of a civil nuclear program. We are committed to continuing that work.
Ours is an ambitious task. But this transformational and historic program will have a lasting impact on the UAE. It is a privilege and a responsibility that we at ENEC take on with pride.
